Perfect Lunch

The Vietnamese sandwich is the perfect lunch item, combining the best of European (crusty buns with soft centres) and Asian (cilantro, daikon, hot peppers) cuisines. Economizing? They’re unbelievably affordable—generally less expensive than a latte. Health conscious? They’re packed with fresh vegetables and deliver lots of crunch and crispiness. On the go? They’re tidy to eat—aside from a few crumbs. They’re not too filling and won’t infect you with the classic after-lunch sluggishness experienced after a burger and fries. This one is from Ba-Le, at the intersection of Kingsway and Fraser.

I particularly like the French style Baguette when it is warmed up.

Mmm, bun mi are so good.
My favourite without a doubt is from Tung Hing Bakery on Kingsway near Knight. Their vegetarian kind is only $2.75, the vegetables are unbelievably fresh, and the baguette is the best I have ever had.
